Open Season Foods Social Media

In order to improve my proficiency in social media, I will be taking over the social media for my parent's small business, Open Season Foods. This company has food products like Sweet Potato Butter and Summer Sandwich Spread at stores like Harris Teeter and Food Lion. Open Season currently has a Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. I will be taking these over temporarily and creating a plan to better engage their followers. The two main issues with Open Season's social media are lack of consistent professionalism and sporadic posting. My mother has been responsible for posting on these accounts and as someone that is new to social media, she is often unsure of what should be posted on business accounts and what should be posted on personal media. One way I am hoping to help with this when I return their social media is by having them ask themselves "will this help to sell more product" before they post anything, and if the answer to that question is no, it should not be posted. I plan to help with sporadic posting by showing them how Hootsuite works. Through this app they can plan out posts across various forms of media in one sitting instead of having to remember to post constantly. Overall I hope to increase Open Season's revenue and improve their online presence.
